pit screens and hoistway divider screens for low rise and high rise
buildings throughout California.
Our products meet or exceed the industry standard and based on California
Elevator Safety Construction Codes which have been adopted by California
Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
When two or more elevators are located
in the same hoistway, the elevator shall be fully separated by a material
complying with the following:
Where wire screen or perforated metal is used it shall be equal to or stronger than 0.0915 inch (2.324 mm) diameter metal grill.
The wire mesh panels shall reject a ball 1 inch (25.4 mm) in diameter and be supported and braced that when subjected to a pressure of 100 lb/ft applied horizontally at any point, the deflection shall not exceed 1 inch (25.4 mm.)
Hoistway Divider Screens Specs:
MESH: 1 square mesh woven with intermediate crimp.
WIRE DIAMETER: #10 gauge (W&M)
PERIMETER FRAMES OF PANELS: 1¼ x 5/8 channel to prevent telescoping when bolted to adjacent panels.
HORIZONTAL STIFFENERS: 1 x ½ channels back to back welded or riveted.
VERTICAL POST: 2 square tube .120 wall.
GAPPING: No vertical or horizontal gaps bigger that 1 except 3 sweep space at the bottom of pitscreens.
Construction of hoistways and hoistway enclosures
must comply with section 100 of ASME A17.7-1996; except for Rules 100.1a(3)
and 100.1c(3); which is hereby incorporated for reference.
